September 24, 2010 – Human Library Event “But You Look Good”

Stratford Public Library features Human Book:

But You Look Good – Living a Normal Life with a Chronic Disease
Diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension in 1995, and told she had less than 2 years to live, a lung transplant seemed the only option. Grace Wickenheiser has been on $100,000 a year worth of life-saving medication since 1998. Her prognosis is not good, and her condition has not stabilized, but in 2010, her positive attitude is a contagious.

What if you could ask Nelson Mandela, the Queen or a local graffiti artist about their lives and experiences?

At the Stratford Public Library, your can borrow a real live person on Friday September 24 from 10:30 am to 4 pm. Human “books” will be available for a loan of up to 30 minutes, in the library – your community living room. Chat, learn, and challenge your assumptions as you connect with people in your community in a new and unique way!

Date: Friday, September 24, 10:30am – 4pm
Where: Stratford Public Library
Address: 19 St. Andrew Street, Stratford, Ontario, N5A 1A2, (519) 271-0220
